Abstract
On September 19, 1998, the University of Utah College of Law sponsored the annual Utah Law Review Symposium. This year we addressed a newly emerging topic that had, to date, been the subject of very little scholarly discussion. Specifically, the "Crime Victims' Rights in the Twenty- First Century" Symposium explored the controversy concerning the role crime victims should play in the criminal justice system and whether a federal constitutional amendment should be adopted to address this role. The Utah Law Review is very proud of the nationally recognized scholars and practitioners who agreed to participate in this landmark event. The ideas they presented at the Symposium and in the pages of this volume are sure to spark national scholarly debate, as well as debate among national lawmakers. The 1998-99 Board of Editors extends its gratitude to the participants.
