Abstract
To sustain the designs of the patent system, it must evolve as technology does, providing limited monopolies in technological realms the Constitution's framers could hardly have imagined. By the same token, we must not allow new technology to disguise as patent-worthy those inventions or ideas which are not deserving of patent protection. Patent grants can only be justified to the extent that they serve the interests of the public.
