Abstract
The pages that follow have been written primarily to orient law students to the study of law, especially tort law. The subjects discussed and the thoughts expressed, however, raise issues of importance to lawyers, legal educators and judges, all of whom are also students of the law. I hope that publication of this perspective on law and legal education will stimulate the eventual recognition that, since lawyering is a communicative art, legal education must focus on the explicit knowledge and application of communication "science" to lawyers' roles.
