Abstract
The health care industry is undergoing substantial restructuring in response to cost pressures and newly enacted or anticipated state and federal legislative reform. This rapid change, as well as the change that will result from further reform, presents antitrust officials with new and difficult challenges. This Article looks at one aspect of federal antitrust review-the review of hospital mergers and joint ventures-and explores how restructuring and reform may affect that review.'
