Abstract
I started this Article with two stories and a history. The first suggested how sensitive innovative growth was to legal regulation; the second showed how regulations from one period become destructive in another. Those two stories reinforced this lesson from history: that the scope of copyright protection has changed in our past, and that change has reflected changes in technology.
